Test Revision

So I'm just putting this here to provide a space for those who would like to make use of a communal discussion to help them think about the unit and revise for the test on Monday.

God the Geometer, Codex Vindobonensis 2554

Details, in case you missed them, are:
  • The test takes place in the lecture slot on Monday 21 May.
  • It is expected to take about an hour, but you can take up to two if required.
  • It will follow an essay format.
  • It will take the form of a statement you must discuss with reference to primary sources.
  • Select primary sources will be provided.
  • A mock test is available on Blackboard
  • The marking criteria are listed in the Unit Guide
  • There is no exam in the exam period.
  • There is no tutorial in week 12 after the test.
  • Please submit outstanding essay hard copies to the SOPHIS essay box (Menzies W604).
It's been a blast, so thanks everyone. And good luck on Monday!
Kathleen

Hi I just wanted to say that Kathleen's lecture on linking information into 5 groups was fantastic. For me, I had a million bits of information running around in my head, and a little overwhelmed as to how I was going to wade through it all. Now it’s fallen into place, like a light bulb over your head moment, pennies dropped.... Well, thank-you Kathleen.

Hi all,
Nathaniel mentioned this interesting classic film to me as another way of getting inside the emotional minds of those facing the Black Death: The Seventh Seal. It's fantasy, rather than history, but it looks pretty good (if you can excuse the errors in the subtitles, like telling you that the plague was a 12th rather than a 14th century phenomenon), and was directed by Oscar-winner Ingmar Bergman.
