Question
Steph Kelly asked: "I was just wondering what voice we should use when writing the historical argument exercise. Do we summarise it as if it were fact e.g. "The Wealth of the Byzantine Empire was partly due to the strength of its government"? Or do we write as you would in an essay e.g. "Davis argues that the wealth of the Byzantine Empire....etc"? Thanks"

Answer
I would advise the latter: since the exercise is to show that you can identify and summarise someone else's argument, be clear about when you are making points of your own and/or summarising Davis'.

For the hard copy you want us to hand in, do we have to do a cover sheet for that as well or is the cover sheet just for the online submission?

Hi Roman,
Normal practice is for both electronic and hard copies to have a coversheet. (The coversheet includes an important statement about the assignment being your own work.)
